Abstract Octo Study

Collage on canvas panel 8"x8".. Alcohol Ink, Acrylic

I've been doing side studies in which I play with deconstruction and abstraction. This one is an octopus. Most of the image is collaged with papers I've imprinted with alcohol ink. The alcohol ink process results in a slightly mottled pattern that perfectly suggests an octopus's skin. Once the surface has cured I'll give it away in the Free Art Gallery (380 N Wynoochee Dr SW just north of Butterclam in OS).
